YouTube has really helped me as a dancer. Last year I had a pas de deux from Coppelia. I had trouble getting the character at first so I went on YouTube and watched different performances and variations by other dancers. There were hundreds of videos, some professional, others by student dancers. Without YouTube, I would have not been able to access these videos. It also helped my career as a dancer because I was able to upload my final performance of Coppelia (see below). Friends and family that could not attend the live show were able to see my variation. In fact, anyone can see my performance and that includes dance companies. If I can get a reputation on YouTube, it can help me get into a company.
